We commit to improving a lot of small businesses, Mathale
Former Limpopo premier Cassel Mathale has pledged his support for small business and said his department has decided to bring about an environment in which they will thrive.
Mathale was talking in Thohoyandou in the two day SMME summit held at the Thohoyandou community hall attended by more than 800 SMME’s
During the summit held by the Department of Small Business Development in conjunction with the department of Trade and Industry and Limpopo department of economic development small business leaders were allowed to talk about the challenges they faced as well as their aspirations.
Mathale and deputy minister of trade and industry Bulelani Magwanishe made their addresses.
Mathale said: “The two day summit was the necessary toning for us to understand what is it what we can do to improve their lot of entrepreneurs running small business. We have noted that instead of mourning and dwelling on challenges they also assisted us with others on what we should do to improve their businesses.”
He called for an integrated approach that would require partnerships with key drivers of the economy.
They include the department of agriculture and forestry, finance, water and sanitation as well as local communities themselves and entrepreneurs.
At the event Mathale and Magwanishe gave some entrepreneurs some tools of trade as a way of motivating them.
