Hosi Magona, real names Busa Charles Nxumalo, of the Ndwandwe clan took a long time at the funeral service of his late mother Selina Nxumalo in May telling mourners why they should vote for ANC in the upcoming local government elections.

Passing a vote of thanks at the funeral service held at the new Malamulele Community hall at Malamulele Town on May 16, he said his mother loved the ANC just like his late father Samuel Dickinson Weller Nxumalo, who defied protestations from the members of the Ximoko Progressive Party prior to the first democratic elections in 1994 who were against their party merging with the ANC.

It is history that XPP merged with the ANC and Hosi SDW Nxumalo and few other members of the party went to the national parliament in Cape Town as MP’s in the ANC ticket.

But Hosi Busa Nxumalo died early today after a short illness.

He was installed in 2010 by his late father who was still alive.

“He is young and educated and I have no doubt he will lead my people with aplomb,” said the late Hosi Magona about his son.

True to his father’s expectations the late Hosi Magona served in various important positions including being the chairperson of the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa in Vhembe.

At his mother’s funeral notable political figures who attended included MEC Dickson Masemola, deputy ministers David Masondo and Cassel Mathale and several traditional leaders.
