ANC MP Joe Maswanganyi says Mopani District Executive Mayor Pule Shayi is walking on the footsteps of giants.

Maswanganyi was giving the ANC’s congratulatory message at Mashishimale sports ground during the celebration of executive mayor Shayi’s celebration of his newly attained Masters in Business Administration.
Speaking to hundreds who attended the event, Maswanganyi said the celebration marked an important stage in Shayi’s academic progress.

“It is an important milestone in your life, calling for happiness and joy,” said Maswanganyi.
He added, “You are walking on the footsteps of giant.”

He said many former ANC leaders were educated people.
“One of the co-founders of the ANC Pixley ka Seme was a lawyer, trained in Colombia University, Jesus College, Oxford University. Charllotte Maxeke, the president of the Bantu Women’s league, the forerunner of the ANC Women’s League, herself studied in in Wilberforce University, Ohio, and president AB Xuma studied medicine in the United States of America, Austria and Hungary,” said Maswanganyi.
He said the founders of the ANC were educated.

Shayi praised for completing MBA degree

“Dr WK Nkomo, Dr Mxolisi Majombozi and Anton Lembede who had a Masters’ degree and was studying towards PhD,” he said. He encouraged his comrades to enroll with institutions of higher learning.
“Education will enhance the knowledge of our comrades in government,” he said.
“If comrades are educated, it makes it easier for the ANC to deploy comrades to various positions in government,” he said.
“We salute comrade Pule for your dedication which has culminated in the magnificent and monumental achievement,” said Maswanganyi.
