ANC hails “towering Maero”
Community leader Eric Sithole is no more

The African National Congress in the Norman Mashabane region has sent messages of condolences to the family of the late community leader Eric Sithole who died at Tzaneen Medi –clinic on July 23 2021;
Sithole, of Giyani section E but originally from Nkuri village was an all-rounder.
A school principal, he also serve in various other capacities such as being the branch chairman of Enoch Ringani, Giyani Local Football Association chairman and also the chairman Mopani East Schools Sports.
Regional spokesman Peter Ngobeni has hailed the late leader as an all-rounder.
“He was a community leader and in deed a prototype member of the African National Congress. He was an outstanding cadre of our movement capable of pursuing the objectives of the National democratic revolution,” said Ngobeni.
He added,” The ANC Norman Mashabane region dips its revolutionary banner in honour of this towering giant. May his soul continue to rest in peace.”
A much grounded individual, Sithole used to run a local soccer team, Nkuri Eleven Experience that won many competitions.
It produced players that played in the Premier Soccer league such as December Ngobeni who once played for Sliver Stars and coached by Owen Da Gama.
Sithole also led the feeder team for the Dynamos Football Club of Pat Malabela.
Funeral arrangements were being made by the time of going to press.
