Shigamani chief not disappointing in the education of the black child

Well-known Limpopo traditional leader Hosi Shigamani and the stakeholders have walked the talk when they gave incentives to top learners at the local Shigamani High school who did well in the newly released grade 12 results.

Hosi Shigamani and different stakeholders had made a pledge at the school on July 28 last year that they would reward the top three learners at the school.
True to the talk, they walk the talk at the event at the school this week.
Crack learner Tompho Mabasa who received 74,4 % pass received an amount of R15 000 cash plus a brand new laptop.

Ntivo Maluleke who came second with 73,1% received an amount of R9000 while third placed Ntsakiso Chivambo who received 71,4% received R6 000.
In an interview with The Village Voice, Hosi Shigamani said:”We do not give because we have a lot, but we want to send the message that we support the education of the black child, and we hope other people in other communities will emulate what we do.”

The chief bemoaned the fact that the school saw saw the drop of results from 86 per cent to 69 per cent.
” We have made to believe that the school has identified the problems and it will be one of the top schools again, come the end of the year,” he said.
