Collins Chabane mayor urges families to be strong

All four people who died in a gory car crash on July 1 in Malamulele on July I were sent to their last resting places over the weekend. The four namely Ndzhaka Zacharia Matsimbi, 28, Bruce Mabasa, 28, Bongani Mpofu, 30 and Nhlanhla Ludwig Mathebula, 26, died in a collision between a Toyota Tazz and a Corola on the Winston Zinjiva road. The funeral services were held separately but community leaders in the area including the municipality rallied around the affected families to offer them commiseration.

Collins Chabane Local Municipality mayor Shadrack Maluleke addressed the funeral service of the late Ndzhaka Zacharia Matsimbi at Assemblies Church in Malamulele. Offering condolences on behalf of the municipality, the mayor said it pained him to see parents burying their son, whereas it was supposed to be the other way round.

He urged the loved ones of the deceased to be strong because God was in control. “God is the only one who knows our last day on earth and if we believe in him, we will realize that there is future for the family, “he said.

He said the municipality was concerned because at the recent state of the municipality address he highlighted the municipality’s plans for young people. “Now it is painful that four young lives were lost in an accident, “he said.
