Muhluri Brian Mabasa, the high riding athlete from Lombard Village in the Collins Chabane Local Municipality cannot be accuse of not trying hard to fulfil his dreams.
He has been to any tourney that he happened to know of.
Muhluri, 23, who is without a club at the moment hopes to secure a club and a manager.
“I have been to everywhere and I think it is time I get a sponsor. I will also write to the Limpopo MEC for sports, arts and culture Ms Thandi Morake and ask for her assistance in getting me a kit because athletics is all I know and with such assistance the sky will be the limit,” he said in an interview with The Village Voice.
He was unveiled as a runner when in 2016 he participated in the Jilongo funwalk and fun run coming first in the 5km competition.
In 2017, he participaterd in the 21,5km Giyani Gazamed competition and came third in the junior category.
Also in 2017, he participated in the Open Pit race and came second in the juniors and came ninth overall.
He also the same year in participated in the much supported Shikhumba Race and got position third in the 21km competition in the juniors.
He also closed the year by participatinf in the Thavhani Mall competition in Thulamala and came sixth.
“I have also participated in the Polokwane Race for cancer in 2018 and got the worst position , 34th overall,” he said.
Some of the races he took part include the Mdabula Anniversary where he took position 1 in the 31km competition.
He also got position 1 in the two races that took place in his neck of the woods, at Lombard Village.
The Lombard Development Forum, that has been formed to champion the development of the area has given him a thumbsup.
The secretary of the forum Hlulani Mabunda says they are proud of the young man.
“He does us proud as a village by participating in various tourneys and we hope he secures a sponsor soon,” said Mabunda
