Collins Chabane mayor visits New Year’s babies

The New Year’s babies at Malamulele Hospital today received a boost when they were visited by Collins Chabane Local municipality mayor Shadrack Maluleke.Accompanied by members of the municipality’s executive council and the hospital board Maluleke handed presents to the newly born.

The chief executive officer of the hospital Morris Baloyi said at the time of the mayor’s visit, there seven babies who were born on New Year’s day.He said there were no maternal deaths.Addressing at the event, Maluleke said was nothing special as the purpose waa merely to welcome the newly born.He went to give the newly born some items.

The chairman of the hospital board Dr Gulukhulu Mathebula thanked the mayor for visiting the hospital.The deputy chairman of the board asked the mayor to intervene because the hospital is short staffed.”We have written to the department requesting them to employ more people but nothing has been done and we request you to use your influence,” said Mthombeni.

The mayor also earlier visited the hospital on Christmas Day and give present to Christmas babies.
