Hosi Mukhomi has received praises from Limpopo MEC for cooperative governance, housing and traditional affairs Basikopo Makamu for leading his community smoothly without and friction.

Speaking at the official opening of the modern tribal office at Mukhomi last Friday, Makamu said there was no friction in the area under Hosi Mukhomi whose real names are Mkhacani Richard Mabasa and as such it was easy for the government to bring development in the area in the form of modern tribal office.

“There are some areas that always there is no love lost between hosi and the community or between hosi and the royal family and this does not make the government’ job of bringing development easy,” said Makamu.

He told hosi Mukhomi that a tribal office is not his but for the community but he must treat it as such and facilities must benefit the community.

“You find somewhere a tribal office is built in the chief’s kraal and as such the chief treats the office as an extension of his family and that should not be allowed,” said Makamu.

He also said chieftainship is not for the individual but for the family and the incumbent chief must work closely with the family.

He has not received any complaints from the Mukhomi royal family.

Makamu also told the community to make use of the office.

Hosi Mukhomi thanked the government for the offices.

Collins Chabane Local Municipality mayor Moses Maluleke and Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders chairperson Kgoshi Malesela Dikgale accompanied the MEC.

“We were supposed to have opened the office some time ago but different levels of the Convid -19 lockdown restrictions did not permit it but now we are at level one that is more relaxed,” he said.
