Dignified send off for granny Tsakani Elizabeth Shibambu
Speakers praised her for her dedication to hard work and Christian beliefs

Granny Tsakani Elizabeth Shibambu was given a dignified send off at Gumbani over the weekend with hundreds of mourners who came from different parts of Collins Chabane Local Municipality at Vhembe districts coming to pay her last respects.
Born on June 17 1949, she passed on on 26 October aged 73.
She was the mother of Vhembe District Municipality m3edia officer Moss Shibambu.
Speakers included Vhembe District Municipality Executive mayor Mr Dowelani Nenguda who conveyed messages of support on behalf of the government.
He was accompanied by Collins Chabane Local Municipality acting mayor Mr Gezani Shadrack Maluleke.
Speaking on the announcement of her passing on behalf of the family, Moss Shibambu paid tribute to his mother.
“She was a very committed person in whatever she did be it as a Christian, sewing or organising for the ANC,” he said.
She was adept at sewing particularly skirts.
She was also a passionate member of the Zion Christian Church.
Speakers also praised her for the love of the ANC.
Despite her advanced age she organised other pensioners to join the ANC Womens’ League.
She is survived by seven children, namely, Moses, Patricia, Simon, Johana, Amukelani, David and Elvis and seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Xitsundzuxo, Junior, Pfuxeto, Ripfumelo, Tsakani, and Muhluri.
Three siblings, Mjaji, Maria and Gerson, as well as two grandchildren Kuhlula and Hlawutelo also survive her.
