Giving an acceptance speech after he was voted on and sworn into office by magistrate Busi Nkosi, he said he accepted the position because government must run although as Africans they were expected to be in a period of mourning.
He said when the started the new term, the late Big Moss, as the late mayor was called, told him to make sure development reached every corner of the municipality. He said those who loved the late mayor must work hard.
