For the second time this year Greater Giyani Local Municipality offices in Mopani, Limpopo Province have been closed due to the cases involving two employees who tested positive to Covid -19 virus.
The offices are due to close today and will be opened again next Monday (September 7).
Spokesperson for the municipality Steven Mavunda confirmed the closure and the two cases.
“It is true; we have closed the main offices of the Greater Giyani Municipality following the two positive Convid -19 cases involving employees. We have closed the offices to allow time for decontamination, “said Mabunda.

Mabunda said that in the meantime all necessary precaution measures set by the department of health will be followed before the office open for public services again.
It is not the first time that the offices had closed due to the corona case as it happened in the past few months.
Not so long Mayor Basani Agnes Shibambu decried the fact that Convid -19 cases are increasing in the area due to noncompliance by members of the community.
She expressed disappointment that people in rural villages were staging soccer games where people were not observing the regulations to fight Convid -19 virus and people behaved as if there was not this disease ravaging the entire world.
By yesterday, South Africa had a cumulative total of 627 041 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Limpopo province stands at 665 active cases.
