Limpopo Home Cinema and People of Desire that will host the Giyani Come Alive Theatre and Film Festival say they are ploughing back to the community as well as motivating local hidden talent.

The late Gibson Kente – the father of theatre

In the statement, they both said they wanted to unearth those with talent in both theatre and film.
“With experts in the fields, this will also give the opportunity to address the social ills; gender based violence, social bullying, and promoting arts as well as up skilling new talents, “ said the statement.
It is expected that people will come throughout the lengths and breadth of Limpopo to witness the creative art event.
“They will experience the beauty of art, from local people in theatre and film, “ said the statement.
The occasion will also double up as the launch of the online streaming (HOME CINEMA PLUS website), a platform created to showcase the growth and the development of visual content creation in the province.
This is happening simultaneously with the Limpopo Home Cinema, Next Home Cinema festival whereby the festival has so far been screening local movies in schools and community halls since January.
Tomorrow, Saturday March 4, the activities of the day will involve live theatre performances, music performances, comedy sketch and Next Gen screenings of local movies.
This will take place at Giyani sports, arts and culture centre commonly known as Giyani Multipurpose centre from 9am to 5pm.
Probably we shall have new talents that will follow in the footsteps of people like the late Gibson Kente, the father of theatre in Soweto.
