Mayor impressed by local soccer talent
Marhavi FC are the Collins Chabane Local Municipality Mayor’s cup champs

Collins Chabane Local Municipality mayor Shadrack Maluleke has been impressed with the soccer talent at the disposal at the municipality.
The mayor said as much during the presentation after the finals won by Marhavi FC from Mavambe who beat another crack side Mafuyatha from Makuleke 5-2.
The tournament run by the municipality in conjunction with IEC and and the local Safa affiliated football association involved teams from all wards in the municipality.
The mayor said the success of the tournament gave him hope that the development of youth in the municipality is on track.
“It has given us the impetus to focus more on youth development,” he said.
There were thrills and jitters on the last day of the tournament at Malamulele Stadium and the fans were kept on their toes.
All the ward winners received a soccer kit and balls.’
As winners, Marhavi received three soccer kits, gold medals and a trophy.
For their efforts, second places Mafuyatha also received three soccer kits, silver medals and a trophy.
Muchipisi Pull together who came third after defeating Masakona 4-3 on penalties after the two teams were tied goalless after normal time also received a kit.
All stream winners also received kits and soccer balls.
