Limpopo MEC for cooperative governance, housing and traditional affairs Basikopo has told the Makhado Local municipality mayor Dorcus Mboyi that in presenting her budget speech, she had entered into a contract with the residents of Makhado and she should not fail them.
Speaking at the Makhado Local Municipality’s state of the municipality event, Makamu first thanked the people of Makhado saying it was the second best in terms of ANC support after Thulamela, and followed by Collins Chabane.
He said to the mayor:”As the MEC I tell you that the budget that you presented is a contract, and I want to see it being reduced to action in terms of service delivery.”
He expressed hope in the mayor Mboyi and municipal manager Mr Kent Nemaname that they would not fail the residents.
Mboyi promised the MEC that the municipality was on track to give services to the people.
“The budget that I present is the people’s budget. It is informed by the integrated development plan and is not a top down directive,” she said.
