One of the longstanding councillors Faith Chauke has told communicators to do their job effectively because communication is very important.

Chauke who is a member of the mayoral committee of Collins Chabane Local Municipality was standing in for mayor Shadrack Maluleke during the Collins Chabane Local Municipality Communicators Forum held at Malamulele Civic Centre on Wednesday.She addressed communicators from Vhembe District Municipalities, local municipalities, ward committee members and other stakeholders.

She said communication can be verbal or nonverbal but it serves the same role.“AS government we recognise the role that the media or communicators in general play as it informs our people what the government is doing or plans to do,” she said and added, “sometimes our people will tell you what the government is supposed to do and is not doing, and his also helps us.”Chauke is a longstanding councillor in the ANC ticket.She became a councillor since 1995 during the time of the Levubu-Shingwedzi Transitional Local Council. Different stakeholders took their time to put their stories across.
