The principal of Govhu secondary school principal Lazarus Wilson Chauke, on cloud nine after the school attained 100 per cent pass rate in the newly released Grade 12 results has hailed the cooperation of parents and says it contributed to the drastic improvement of the results.
The school shocked the academic fraternity after 28 learners wrote Grade 12 examination and all passed.Out of 28 learners, 12 received a bachelor pass, 9 diploma and 7 received a higher certificate. This was a drastic improvement to the 69, 5 % the school received the previous year.
Chauke says like all schools, results are affected by discipline of the learners.”This time we appealed to parents to work closely with us to appeal for the discipline amongst learners and it worked,” he said. After the past results enrolment improved and we now have 43 grade 12 learners, more than double the figure for last year ” he said.
Chauke is also happy that the previous year’s results have also resulted in the local Collins Chabane Local Municipality mayor Shadrack Maluleke visiting the school to motivate the learners.”With such motivation, the school can only get better and bigger,” he said.
