Traffic station safe to return, says Greater Giyani Local Municipality

The Greater Giyani traffic station is now safe to return after it was closed due to an employee testing positive to Convid -19 virus, so says municipality spokesperson Steven Mabunda.

Mabunda said the station would be operational tomorrow contrary to an earlier belief that it would be ready to operate on August 12.

Mabunda today told The Village Voice: “The municipality has followed all the Convid -19 health protocols to ensure that the station is safe for employees to return. This entailed disinfecting all the facilities,” he said.

He said with the department of health all the employees were screened and those who were in contact with the infected employee have been told to isolate themselves and will only return after they will have been cleared.

The station will be opened on Monday the 10 but will be closed on Sunday the 9th August.

“We also call on members of the community to continue with Convid -19 preventative measures, which include regular sanitizing, sanitizing, washing of hands, wearing of masks at all times in public and maintaining safe distancing, “said Mabunda.
