Gezani Shadrack Maluleke confirmed as Collins Chabane mayor

Collins Chabane Local Municipality mayor Gezani Shadrack Maluleke has received a thumbs up from the both the business sector and traditional leaders in the municipality.
This follows his confirmation by the ruling party as the mayor and as a result appointment by the council.
In a special sitting at Malamulele community hall yesterday, Mafemani Eric Baloyi, who is the chief whip of the ruling party, the ANC brought the motion to the council speaker Thina Mbedzi that the ANC wished Maluleke to be confirmed as mayor.
Baloyi said after Maluleke was elected mayor in a special sitting on 11 August 2022, the ANC conducted is processes, including selections and interviews and came to the conclusion that Maluleke should be confirmed as mayor.
The secretary of the Collins Chabane Chamber of Business Rhulani Maboya hailed the appointment of the mayor. He said the CCCB was satisfied with the efforts of the office of the mayor to have brought stability in Malamulele, Vuwani and Hlanganani under the leadership of Maluleke.
“The CCCB always cherished collaboration between business, traditional leadership and government because it creates and environment in which economy thrives and people get jobs,” he said.
The secretary of Malamulele branch of Contralesa Hosi Bohani Shigamani said Contralesa appreciated the ANC’s decision to confirm Maluleke as mayor because he was doing well as acting mayor. Baloyi went with the ANC resolution to effect changes to the executive committee.
“The finance portfolio, which was led by councillor Mavikane Xihlamariso Simon will now be led by councillor Manganyi Mzamani Noel. The technical services portfolio,previously headed by councillor Thovhakale Mpho Sydney will now be headed by councillor Mavikane Xihlamariso Simon. Councillor Thovhakale will now head community services portfolio previously headed by councillor Chauke Gezani Harry has has been moved to chair Section 19,” said the Baloyi.
The motion was seconded and adopted.
Maluleke was roped in as acting mayor following the murder of the former mayor Moses Maluleke who was popularly known as Big Moss.
The event was attended by the families of the late mayor Moses Maluleke,the new mayor and the late cabinet minister Collins Chabane whom the new municipality was named after.
Many people hailed the availability of the three families as a sign of unity.
