SANParks welcomes new DFFE Minister
The South African National Parks has issued a statement to welcome the new department of Forestry, fisheries and the Environment Minister David Maynier who has taken over from the outgoing Willie Aucamp in the cabinet reshuffle announced by President Cyrile Ramaphosa. Mr Aucamp has been appointed the new Minister of Agriculture.
In the same reshuffle, the former Minister of Communications Dina Pule who was removed from cabinet ten years ago has returned to cabinet to become the new Minister of Social Development. . Former Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuizen moves to become the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry.
Mr Alexandra Abrahams is the new Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy. while Mr Jack Bloom is the Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation. Mr Yusuf Cassim has been appointed the Deputy Minister of Higher Education. In the statement SANParks said the new minister brings extensive senior governance experience to the portfolio. “His background will be highly valuable as SANParks continues implementing its strategy that is rooted in inclusive conservation and aims to build a healthy, sustainable , and climate resilient system of national parks that benefits all South Africans.
