Kiddo stars make musical waves
Two kids Nkhensani Ngobeni, 10 and her younger brother Nyiko, 6, have literally grabbed the showbiz scene by the scruff of its neck.
The duo has formed a band Valambya that has music fans eating out of their hands.
The popular band has got music fans talking. Born on November 20 2008 November, Nkhensani started her career at the early age of two. “At the time, Benny Mayengani’s song Jelly na custard was a hit and my little girl used to hum its lyrics like a professional singer,” said her father.
Born on February 3 2011 Nyiko started dancing at the age of one year and six months. “As he grew up he would sing along with the song and even composed songs over the instrumental beats (remix),” he said.
He added: “He then danced for creche kids and sometimes dances

for old people at the Old Age Home in The Willows, Masonic Haven for the Aged.”
At such tender ages the duo has just
released their third album titled Game Down.
Their father has no doubt it well on the market.
“It is unbelievable how people like their music. Their songs are receiving regular air play at several radio stations and they are usually invited for live performances,” Ngobeni said. Their first album titled Ndhavuko that was released in September 2015 received a nomination for the Best Newcomer at the Munghana Lonene FM music awards which were held in March 2016. They later released Xigubu xa Valambya which is still popular.
“Their recent work was one of the albums that were on the catalogue of Dakota Music Distribution in December 2016. The youngsters are produced by respected producer Prince Rhangani of Xamindzhumba Studios. Rhangani, it must be remembered, is one of the best
in the Xitsonga traditional music genre and has produced top drawer artists such as Benny Mayengani, Percy Mfana and Kenny Bevhula. Their father Ngobeni is managing them. “They are still young and at grade 4 and 1 respectively. We are originally from Mulamula in Malamulele but now we live in Lethabong Informal Settlement, Donkerhoek next to Silverlakes in Pretoria,” said Ngobeni.
They have their music video which is captured by one of the best DJs, DJ Brian Rikhotso who also have a You Tube Channel, DJBRIAN YOU TUBE CHANNEL. They have just participated in 2018 Child Protection Week campaign with Live Performance at DSTV Channel 404 SABC NEWS on Friday, 01st June 2018.
