New Downs Supporters chair vows to do more to woo supporters

The newly reelected chairman of Giyani branch of Mamelodi Sundowns Supporters Richard Chauke has vowed to get down to business and woo more supporters for the team.
Chauke and his other Top five were elected unopposed at the event held at the Greater Giyani Local Municipality parking area on Friday.
The others were Masingita Mabasa as deputy chair, Cyril Ntimane as secretary, Gabriel Chauke as deputy secretary and Elias Nkuna as treasurer.
In his address following his reelection, Chauke thanked those who elected him and his team and those who supported the branch. He also appreciated the guests who attended the event particularly Safa Vhembe president Jabulani Ndobe and Collins Chabane Local Municipality chairman Joe Vukeya. He also thanked the sister branches than can to support the Giyani branch.
He promised a lot will be done for the Yellow Nation.
“Mamelodi Sundowns are not an ordinary team but a high riding team that has won the league seven consecutive team. In that regard as supporters we must make plans that match that success,” he said, before adding” we have lofty plan for this branch but we cannot unpack all of them here because we must play our cards close to the chest “.
A number of sister branches came to the event to offer their support.
They are Mokopane, Greater Marble Hall, Seshego, Bolobedu, Tzaneen, BaPhalaborwa, Thohoyandou and Musina.
They all appreciated the unity that prevailed at the event.
Former ‘Downs player turned the club’s ambassador Tiyani “Sugar” Mabunda addressed the supporters, saying he was conveying messages of support from the club chairman Tlhopie Motsepe.
He thanked the supporters for supporting the team.
He urged the branches to woo more supporters to make sure the team’s success on the field of play translate into support at stadia.
Mabunda who came with his father seems a hit with supporters as they sang and danced with him.
